ACE – Alternative and Clean Energy Program
SEED4Com’s initial project during its inception includes the deployment of renewal energy systems in cooperation with “Project EnKindle” as its technical partner and provider. The following are the three modes for the ACE Program:
Class 1 – Provision of emergency stand-alone renewable energy technologies, including solar PV with generating capacity of 50 watts to off grid and disaster-stricken areas until restoration of power.
Class 2 – Promotion of renewable energy technologies as more cost-efficient and environment friendly alternative to offset the use of fossil fuels, such as replacing diesel generator sets operating in off-grid settings including last-mile or geographically-isolated islands and mountain areas.
Class 3 – Introduction of sustainable solutions for the energy needs of communities through renewable energy systems in the form of a micro-grid, thereby empowering communities towards energy independence, and providing venues for job creation and community enterprise.
The Ace Program also aims to create awareness to the communities of the need for clean indigenous sources of energy and inculcating in them a deep sense of responsibility for the environment.
STEP – Skills Training and Empowerment Program
To strengthen the ACE Program, the conduct of trainings for local residents become a necessary step for capacity building in several areas covering installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of renewable energy systems to enable the community become self-sufficient in terms of their energy needs. In addition to this, the STEP Program envisions entrepreneurship and livelihood skills trainings in the areas of farming, food processing, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, welding, culinary and other skills development programs which aims to develop a skilled workforce to complement the energy resources made available to the communities.
MOVE – Mobilization, Organization and Values Enhancement Program
The MOVE Program is aimed to assist the communities in creating one vision and direction by fostering cooperation and active participation among the people of the community for positive social change. The Program facilitates the process of community involvement to spur and sustain initiatives in the community by promoting individual leadership and accountability.
